Attention Ladies: Premature Aging and Fluoride

Who wants to age faster?

Dr. John Yiamouyiannis was
the world's leading authority on the biological effects of fluoride. His formal education included a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D in biochemistry from the University of Rhode Island. He wrote the book, "Fluoride: The Aging Factor."  It is a very good book on the effects of fluoride in the body and how it contributes to aging-yes, aging! Is there fluoride in your water?

Numerous other doctors around the world, besides Dr. Yiamouyiannis,  have discovered the damage that fluoride can do and how it contributes to aging: As little as 1 part per million fluoride disrupts the synthesis of collagen in bone, tendon, muscle, skin, cartilage, lung, kidney,....

During the aging process, cumulative damage to cells leads to the diseases attributed to "old age" - arthritis, arteriosclerosis, brittle bones, wrinkled skin, etc. According to many experts, the consumption of fluoride produces the same effects and results in the same diseases.

Premature aging is something that no one wants.  Yet, the majority of the population is getting fluoride in their city water supply. It's in your canned goods and many juices since they are prepared with fluoridated city water. The body absorbs it while you and your children/grandchildren bathe in fluoridated water. It affects plant life in your garden, too, when you water your garden.

Aging and Fluoride...  Get the book to learn more. It is something we all want to be aware of since we are exposed to fluoride more and more in our everyday environment.

Have a great day,
Stephen

The Pesticide Cryolite: Contains Fluoride & Sprayed on Many of Your Favorite Foods!

Many of our favorite food crops are sprayed with cryolite which adds to the problem of fluoride overload, according to the new book, Thyroid Mind Power, co-authored by Dr. Richard Shames, M.D.

What is cryolite?

Cryolite  is a pesticide that contains  fluoride! It was first registered as a pesticide in the U.S. in 1957. According to the article in the First for Women magazine, the EPA has received petitions by health advocacy groups and, according to the article, says it will plan to phase out cryolite. However, until that happens, because the phase out could literally take years to go into effect and foods are still being added to their list of those on which it is or will be used, Dr. Shames recommends that people buy organic fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, strawberries, and potatoes which all have softer skins that can absorb the chemical more readily.

The EPA fact sheet says:

EPA has determined that the following uses of cryolite have been
supported and are eligible for registration: broccoli, Brussels sprouts,
cabbage, cauliflower, citrus fruits, collards, cranberries, cucumbers,
eggplant, grapes, kohlrabi, lettuce (leaf and head), melons, peaches,
peppers, plums (fresh prunes), pumpkins, squash (winter and summer),
tomatoes, kiwi, potatoes, ornamental herbaceous plants, ...
The use on strawberries is being supported but there are no residue data at
this time upon which to base an eligibility decision...

Tolerance levels proposed for cryolite from the Cyrolite Task Force to the EPA:

(1) Increasing the established tolerances for residues of the insecticidal fluorine compounds cryolite and /or synthetic cryolite in or on the agricultural commodities as listed below;
(2) establishing separate tolerances for the residues in or on head and leaf lettuce; and
(3) establishing tolerances for the residues in the processed foods, raisins at 55 ppm, and tomato paste at 45 ppm.

Commodity Current Proposed

cabbage 7 ppm       45 ppm
citrus fruits 7 ppm   95 ppm!
collards 7 ppm        35 ppm
eggplant 7 ppm      30 ppm
lettuce 7 ppm
lettuce, head         180 ppm!
lettuce, leaf              40 ppm
peaches 7 ppm      10 ppm
raisins none           55 ppm
tomatoes 7 ppm    30 ppm
tomato paste none 45 ppm

Wow-The current level is none to 7 PPM. Those are drastic proposed increases in allowed levels especially for lettuce and citrus fruits! Citrus fruits are routinely made into juice that is often consumed on a daily basis. And, how many children regularly snack on raisins?

Many vineyards extensively use this chemical on their grape crops. It would be better to buy domestic organic wines or wines from Europe where this pesticide is rarely used. Note the following...
Federal Register: July 6, 2000:  California wineries with export markets have advised their growers that they will not accept grapes which have been treated with cryolite or any other product which would affect the level of fluorides in wine. The European Community recently established strict tolerance levels of 1 ppm with respect to fluoride residues. There is a direct correlation between even limited use of cryolite on wine grapes which can result in fluoride levels in wine above 3 ppm.

I'll post more info in the coming weeks on this. There some other pesticides that use fluoride, too. It gets interesting as to the sources from which fluoride can reach us and that few people are aware.

Wishing you a great day,

Stephen

"Researchers from California State University in Fresno conducted a 5 year study (1990-1994) on vineyards throughout the San Joaquin Valley. They found that '[m]ultiple applications of Cryolite during the growing season significantly increase fluoride in wines.' Notably they found fluoride levels between 3 - 6 ppm in Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc, Thompson Seedless, Barbera, Muscat Candi, Ruby Cabernet; and levels between 6 - <9 ppm in French Colombard and Zinfandel... At 6 ppm one glass of wine (175 ml) would have delivered as much fluoride as about a liter of optimally fluoridated water!" - Connett E, Connett P. Fluoride Overload? Can It Affect You?

We have a great many cities that are adding fluoride to their city water supplies because legislators say children are not getting enough in order to have healthy teeth. But could it be in truth, that we may be overloading our bodies instead? Can we even overload on fluoride? Many experts feel that this we definitely can.

This was discussed in this week's First for Women Magazine, July 16, 2011 issue. Go get yours today before they're all gone. So many are suffering from fluoride overload and it's affecting their thyroid. Read the article in its entirety, and it will definitely give you another perspective to the Fluoride debate. What are some of the findings mentioned?

1. Today's Americans ingest four times as much fluoride as we did in the 1940's.
2. Fluoride is, also, in sodas, soups, and so many other foods that the majority of the populace ingests and that is why the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) states that nearly 200 million Americans are exposed to high levels. All this exposure is causing havoc on the thyroid, according to Dr. Richard Shames, M.D., co- author of Thyroid Mind Power.

Dr. Shames says that so many people do not know of the  thyroid-fluoride link that can lead to fatigue, muscle pain, nausea, brain fog, headaches, etc. And, most doctors don't recognize that the symptoms of irritability, weight gain and depression are associated to this link. Instead, it's attributed to aging or to other problems such as fibromyalgia.

According the CDC, only 2 mg of fluoride a day is recommended for prevention of teeth decay. Americans get 3 times that amount per day, much more than the recommended dosage. What is recommended that you do? Cut back! Don't use fluoridated tooth paste. Limit black and green tea since it harbors 2 mg. per cup, etc.

There are so many canned foods, juices, and other prepared, consumable products in our stores that people ingest routinely everyday made with water containing fluoride. Produce is grown in soil that contains fluoride-however, that's another post. Fluoride is in the environment.

All this potentially causes an overload.  We may have to view the issue from a different standpoint to protect the population, not expose it to more fluoride. It's something to seriously consider in light of all the new information that is being made public, and the cities that are preparing to add fluoride to their municipal water supply systems within the next 12 to 24 months or sooner.

Have a great day,
Stephen

"Since [the 1940s], the percent of individuals consuming fluoridated water (in the US) has steadily increased. The increase in percentage of communities with fluoridated water has resulted in an increase in the mean content of fluoride not only in soft drinks and fruit juices, but in canned goods (notably soups), leading to increased intake of fluoride by individuals in communities with nonfluoridated water." - Fomon SJ, Ekstrand J, Ziegler EE. in Boston, for example, more than 60 percent of the exclusively formula fed babies exceed
the safe dose of fluoride on any given day." - Environmental Working Group, "EWG Analysis

"Food processing often concentrates fluoride, and foods processed with fluoridated water typically have
higher fluoride concentrations than foods processed with non-fluoridated water... A study that found
marked differences between cereaals processed in fluoridated and non-fluoridated areas showed that
cereals processed in a fluoridated area had fluoride concentrations ranging from 3.8 ppm to 6.3 ppm..."Warren JJ Levy SM. (2003). Current and future role of fluoride in nutrition. Dental Clinics of North America 47: 225-43.

David S. Banks, DDS, dental practitioner for 35 years, Member International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, San Marcos, CA: “With decay rates in non fluoridated areas the same or less than fluoridated communities and with ample evidence of increased risk of bone, bladder, lung and oral cancer associated with fluoridation, it is senseless and morally wrong to force fluoridation on innocent populations."

Fluoride Spill at Water Facility

Accidents can happen and does as can be seen in the following video from Rock Island, IL:

ROCK ISLAND—
It was just before one o'clock Thursday afternoon when hazmat crews were called to the Rock Island water treatment plant for a chemical spill coming from a tanker truck.

"It's a corrosive agent that the water treatment plant uses, overflow caused spillage out of the building onto driveway behind me" said Rock Island assistant fire chief Jeff Yerkey.

As plant employees evactuated, crews began suiting up, working quickly to stop the leak that had begun eating through concrete.

"They stopped the leak using some earthen berms, dirt, sand and commercial boom equipment. We had it pretty much contained to this facility within a short amount of time" said Yerkey.

The chemical, Hydrofluorosilicic acid is used to add fluoride to the plant's water..."

How Much Fluoride Is the Public Getting?

Arkansas House and Senate Passes SB359, The Fluoridation Bill- Signed by Governor 3-04-2011

SB359, the Flouridation bill, will mandate the fluoridation of all Arkansas public water systems in cities with a population of over 5000. The Bill passed in the House and Senate and has been signed by the Governor of Arkansas.

The people of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Fort Smith, Arkansas, voted to not have fluoride added to their Public Water Supply in past years. This was a vote seriously considered at the time. State and city representatives brought this fact before the House committee reviewing Senate Bill 359 at the Arkansas capitol this past week on 3.01.11, requesting of them, in view of the people’s voice on the issue, to amend the cities out of the bill.  The committee refused and the people’s “vote” was discounted as null and void.

I understand that this is an issue that has great debate. The opposition to fluoridation is not something that has no scientific merit, though, as was directly implied at the House committee meeting as so stated in news releases at the time.

The research of US scientists and doctors, and of those world-wide bring to question a practice that has continued for so long. Many esteemed scientists, doctors, professors, and Nobel Laureates, all with most impressive credentials, have submitted research on the subject, and have spoken out and challenged the continued practice of adding fluoride to public water supplies.

Even as far back as 1936, there were concerns expressed by the ADA and AMA regarding fluoridation:

The Journal of the American Dental Association said (in 1936), "Fluoride at the 1 ppm [part per million] concentration is as toxic as arsenic and lead… There is an increasing volume of evidence of the injurious effects of fluorine, especially the chronic intoxication resulting from the ingestion of minute amounts of fluorine over long periods of time."

The Journal of the American Medical Association" noted (in its September 18, 1943 issue), "Fluorides are general protoplasmic poisons, changing the permeability of the cell membrane by certain enzymes."

"We do know that the use of drinking water containing as little as 1.2 to 3.0 parts per million of fluorine will cause such developmental disturbances in bones as osteosclerosis, spondylosis and osteopetrosis, as well as goiter, and we cannot afford to run the risk of producing such serious systemic disturbances in applying what is at present a doubtful procedure intended to prevent development of dental disfigurements." —Journal of the American Dental Association, October 1944

These are just three of so many similar quotes. Numerous recent scientific studies and research concur with these same findings of so many years ago. The research continues to be brought to the public.

Wishing you well…
